CRF -Chronic Renal Failure-Diet

When one deals with a pet that has crystals on the kidneys which later in time creates CRF, the first thing they are told is to put them on a low protein diet so that the kidneys don't have to work so hard. This did not make sense to me as I know that when I needed to rebuild cells in the body I was told to eat protein to help my cells regenerate. So I figured that if protein was good for me, it certainly would be good for my cat. After long consideration I again applied the Law of Opposites and started to feed Ishka the highest protein food I could find. I believe that cooking for your pet is also great, however, if one is not able to do so the next best thing is a high protein food. This means a food that has no Gluten, or fillers. I have found that the most popular ones with Ishka are Wellness, or Evo. Yes, I will also give her chicken or Tuna on a regular basis, however in a pinch the canned food comes out. There are also the pet owners who follow the raw food diet . I have met many owners at the vet's office that swear by it. I say, whatever works the best is the road to take. It usually takes the animal about a week to get use to the raw food diet. Animals have a natural instict that seems to tell them what is best for them. Observe the behaviour, and you will be amazed by what you learn.

Have a healthy and happy day!!!!
