Pet Food Industry - Veterinary Profession Alliance

Hello everyone,

Remember previously when I mentioned that commercial pet foods gross sales were probably only bettered by petroleum products worldwide?.

With that in mind blowing the whistle on the pet food industry-veterinary association alliance creates alot of attention.

In Dr. Tom Lonsdale's article in Nexus Nov-Dec 2007 issue he states that " we as a profession have been led by the nose by vested interests into a current situation where most younger vets actually recommend commercial pet foods as the best avaliable way of feeding domestic pets-because they have never known of any other way".

I had this conversation with a GP, and he believed that I should not feed my pets human grade food as the pet manufacturers have studied this and know what nutrients are needed for the animal.

I couldn't believe my ears, and honestly was shocked. It appears to me that some of our Dr.s may also be led by the nose by vested interests.

Animals are now getting the same diseases as we are.

This again shows the parallel between our pets and ourselves.

These two huge alliances for both pets and humans are extensive, strong and hostile to criticism.

Instead of adapting to change these alliances come out fighting, for fear of losing profits.

In Dr. Tom Lonsdale case since he has started this crusade he has been threatened with deregistration, jail time and or fined, when all he really wants to do is help your pets have a long and healthy life.

What could be so wrong with that?. Isn't that suppose to be the intention of these companies?

With respect to the Pet Food Recall one of the foods I was feeding Ishka actually had the CVA stamp of approval on it.

I now understand how big this machine is, and what is at stake.
I believe that it is as simple as applying commonsense which alot of manufacturers are failing to do, at the expense of our pets, ourselves, and our earth.

Take back your power!

Have a Healthy and Happy Day.
