When our Cats and Dogs get Sick
Hello everyone,
Anyone who has gone thru the experience of a sick pet knows what I am talking about when I say that you are beside yourself with what to do.
The first thing, and I believe it is one of the most important, is to try to stay as balanced as possible. With respect to energy animals will pick up our emotional anxiety.
The behaviour of our pets gives us the first sign that they are not feeling well.
Pay attention to thesse signs, and try not to rationalize them, as it could be something serious, and this is how our pets communicate.
In Ishka's case with gas it comes down to the diet as it does in the Human world. Since I have been doing my research I have found that the suggested amount of eggs per week are 2-3. Ishka was getting an egg daily for weeks, as it was fast, nutritous and she Loved them. Gas like in the human world is usually due to a change of diet. Diarrhea is another symtom of gas which can also be caused by the food.
The imporatnt thing to remember, is that like Humans each pet is unique in it's own way. Therefore reactions are different.
Like anything in this world there are always two sides of thought. The first is that the whole egg as a raw food is highly nutritous for our pets, whereas the other school of thought is that it is to rich(especially for older pets) to digest.
An incredible site for investigating the raw food phenomenon that I would suggest is www.rawfedcats.org, as well as www.rawfeddogs.org.
Linda the woman who runs this sight is incdredibly supportive and knowledgeable, and will help the pet parents with the transition to raw food.
I again will compare our pets with childen. If you have been feeding a diet of McDonalds to a child for years, or feeding your pet Junk Pet Food, it can be a real challenge for both to all of a sudden remove the Junk from the diet. It takes work, however there is nothing better than having a healthy and happy pet at the end of it all.
Have a great day!
Cheryl
